reality TV update....

so... i've done very well.  covered my ears, walked away from commercials, avoided the living room while j & k +8 was on, and overall learned absolutely nothing about any dancing, talent, or whose having another baby, to the little people and their big world.  the only thing i heard while at work was that j & k were getting a divorce... no comment.  What i do know is that the tour of france starts in less than a week....

reality television....

why are there so many reality tv shows?  I used to never watch tv, but for some reason I have made my way into the world of being a "tv watcher"...like Lost, 24, the office (at times), and maybe a few others.  I've come to enjoy a routine through the week of watching certain shows at night.  The monotony is therapeutic.  I even like some of the commercials that air...like the mcdonalds filet-o-fish, hilarious.  However, as soon as the sumer season begins reality tv takes over.  What is the point of reality tv?  I can't understand why there are so many reality tv shows...american idol, so you think you can dance, something about celebrities in the woods?, survivor (or grown people trying to make serious what we all grew out of years ago), and I'm sure there are more...  Where has popular tv gone?  What happened to normal scripted tv with a plot and a story?  So, instead of filling my brain with useless info, i'm going to refrain to the best of my ability to not know anything about any reality tv show for the rest of the summer.  i'll keep an update...

cycling: what a great sport

So, I started cycling again this year!  Got a bike, some cold whether gear and headed out for some cold late winter/early spring riding.  Its windy here...everyday!  Atleast a 10mph headwind with 5-10mph gusts on a daily basis.  It makes for a tough ride, but def good for training.  I wanted to race this season and felt very confident i could cat up to 4 and my ambitious ego was telling me perhaps cat 3.  However, this sport is expensive and.... we just aint got tha money for it now.  Regardless, I'm riding with groups, making my training rides, and ultimately trying to "get faster".  I love this sport and only wish i found it sooner!!  If any of the 3 of you that follow my blog have never watched or ventured into the cycling world... take some time, watch a race, get a bike, ride, or just imagine your own cycling experience, and you'll see how competitive and tough this sport is!  As for now, have a great day!

semi annual blogging

So... I'm a twice a year blogger!  and, yes it finally snowed.  Now, it's spring in new england and weather is wonderful.  Much has happened in the last many months!  Lets see...  the whole winter season, finally started cycling again, never went snowboarding, shoveled the driveway many times, payed way too much in rent, and, the biggest of all, steph and i are going to have a baby... next month!  Her name will be Mary Arabelle Moffitt and she will go by Arabelle.  We've had many visitors and have met many great people here in west hartford.  The most recent question is whether we should move!?  ...farm house in the country or overpriced run down house in west hartford.  I'm thinking the farm house is the better option.  The only problem is we will have to move shortly after Arabelle is born.  Moving is not fun...but always keeps life entertaining!

...i will post again soon.
